Joy Prom

Joy Prom is a full-scale prom designed for those with special needs, hosted by Strong Rock Christian School in Locust Grove, GA. Destination Church has volunteered at Joy Prom for many years now, and it has become -in many peoples' opinions- the most influential event they participate in all year.

There are many areas to volunteer during the course of the night, including everything from being an attendee's "date" for the night, to greeting them when they come in the door, to helping do make up.

Locust Grove Days Festival

Throughout the year, Destination Church attends several community festivals. Serving at festivals is a fun, easy way for us to show people that they matter and invite them to church!

At the beginning of May, we will attend the Locust Grove Day Festival held at City Hall. We'll have a booth with fun activities for children, offer hospitality items, and give away a gift card to Tanger Outlets!

This event will be on Saturday, May 2nd, and will last from 9am to 5pm.

Christmas in the Grove

Christmas in the Grove is a local festival in Locust Grove, GA spotlighting local organizations. Destination Church participates in Christmas in the Grove for a few reasons:

We get to show local people that they matter.
At this festival, we get the opportunity to give away hot chocolate, boiled peanuts, and other things as a way to show people that they matter in the community.

We get to lead local people to Jesus.
Because of the hospitality we get to show at our booth, people are inclined to stop by and check us out. This creates an opportunity for us to invite them to Destination Church, and at this festival, to our Christmas Eve Eve Service. That invite could be the thing that brings them to church where they will have the opportunity to meet Jesus.

How do I help out?
There are currently opportunities to show hospitality to people by giving away waters and hot chocolate, collect information from people for a giveaway, or serve at the Kid's booth. Sign up by clicking the button below.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Parties

  • Google Calendar ICS

One shoebox could change a life.

Operation Christmas Child is a program started by Samaritan's Purse that helps people pack shoeboxes filled with gifts for children in third world countries who otherwise would not get a Christmas. These shoeboxes are presented along with the gospel, and could potentially be the first step in leading a child, or even an adult to Christ.

Destination Church participates in Operation Christmas Child every year, and packed over 50 shoeboxes at the event last year. This year, many different "Packing Parties" will be hosted primarily through Destination Church's Link Groups.

If you are not involved in a Link Group, you will be able to sign up to host your own Packing Party or join one at a time and location that works for you.
